Windstar’s “Star Breeze”, originally the Seabourn Spirit has been chopped in half. This is how. It is the start of the extension and modernization project of Windstar Cruises. The program, worth 250 million dollars involves all three of their cruise ships “Star Breeze”, “Star Legend” and “Star Pride”. The ship is cut, as shown, and a new 25.6 meters mid-body section was added. Plus there was a total renewal of the propulsion engines and diesel generators for more environmentally responsible navigation. Then there was an extensive modernization of public areas, passenger cabins and open decks.

The Star Breeze was 134 meters long, with a tonnage of approximately 10,000 tons and a capacity of 212 passengers. Now, she has a length of approximately 160 meters, a tonnage of around 13,000 tons, and a capacity to accommodate 312 passengers.
