is a university town, famous for a Viking cemetery, a zoo, parks and messing about on the river. It is visited by smaller crafts and is famous for its TALL SHIPS race and it has a Fjord like feel as it is down river towards some large lakes. The University film has some shots of the town, the tall ships has shots of the river. Needless to say as a university town there is a cosmopolitan feel, bars and cafes, but, this historic city, often called the Paris of the North, has well preserved medieval landmarks such as the 14th century cathedral and the half-timbered Aalborghus Castle – which doesn’t look like a castle.
The Viking Ocean ships have taken this port to heart, but also AIDAaura and Fred Olsen use the port.
