What to do in Fort Dauphin

Fort Dauphin is also called “Tolagnaro.” Occupied by Europeans in the 17th century it was a trading post. From here, left a group who settled in the Reunion Islands. Fort Dauphin offers breathtaking scenery and many historical sites dating from the colonial era. The remains of Fort-Flacourt, an ancient bastion, the museum of Anosy (retracing the colonial history) or the Fort of the Portugueses. The fishing village Sainte Luce and the long beaches bordered by casuarinas and palm trees.

The Nahampaona Reserve is 7km from Fort Dauphin and offers cascades, a natural swimming pool and a bamboo forest.
