We are just back from the Disney Fantasy. What a cruise! The greatest of fun, the best food for some time, but it comes at a price. We reveal.
The food was terrific and never too much trouble. It came fast and the service was as you would expect of America, very good.
The many traditional characters were out daily, but with so many grown up fans in the queue, our grandchildren passed on the chance to meet them in favour of the pool and rides. We all loved the theatre shows which were of premium quality, and the second theatre team who did the pool deck shows and character work were as good as any normal ship’s company. Other entertainment was limited, most entertainment stayed on message. There was a Detective gane, rather like a Disney version of a scavenger hunt, and Pixie Dusting is a big thing. I worked to keep this film short, but it is still the longest cruise film we have posted – because as a parent, these are things you need to know. This film explains the Disney cruise, what to take and many tips, without the need to review or comment.
These include how and when to queue, what the tips will be, how to plan. The complete breakdown of a Disney Cruise and what you need to know, to pack, and what to budget for. This is the ultimate DCL guide.

This is the sub ten minute version which is an over view but if you are going on your first cruise, and your first Disney cruise, then this longer version has more detail.

Future Cruises
After you have done one Disney cruise you may feel that there is no need to repeat it as all family ships have excellent kids clubs. Ships like Icon of the Seas has so much more for slightly older children and some ships have go cart tracks, climbing walls, zip lines and so much more. The Cunard ships have great adult facilities and are a very nice cruise with kids facilities, and the P&O cruises offer a two week break for the cost of a 4 day Disney cruise. The next step is to research and choose.
Future Father and Son ideas….
If your son is older, then the canal on the way to Cadbury world is a great father and son idea. Or mum and daughter.
Cadbury World itself I found a little diasspointing, but then I am no longer five….
