Gdansk

The will be a warm welcome in Poland. The port of Gdynia is only 80 years old but some of its churches and palaces date back as far as the 13th Century like St. Michael the Archangel’s church. It also has two museum ships, so there is much to see without going far. It makes the Old Town easy to wander around. In Oliwa you will no doubt see the tall slender 46-metres tall towers with sharply-edged helmets. That is the 13th Century Gothic Oliwa Cathedral which is a three-nave basilica with a transept and a multisided closed presbytery, finished with an ambulatory. If open inside it sports a rococo organ. The shore excursions on offer tell you so much more, you might like to travel to Malbork, Europe’s largest Gothic fortress and the former seat of the Order of the Teutonic Knights. But going into the former Hanseatic city of Gdansk (once Danzig) is the real treat. St Mary’s church is supposed to be the largest brick-built church in the world and from the top there is a wonderful 360-degree view of the city as you will see from the film. Take a look at the film and the excursions, you will feel you are there already. FRED OLSEN BALTIC CRUISE MARELLA BALTIC CRUISE P&O BALTIC CRUISE SAGA new ships in BALTIC
