When a cruise ship stops in Mombassa they like to make a song and dance of it, and it makes the news! Mombasa was the first capital of British East Africa.

Kenya has great safari tours and the people are wonderful. My favourite was a night at the tree tops lodges. We had a memorable family holiday there.

You don’t have to safari, you can see the city, have lunch on a Dhow, visit Haller Park, swim with turtles or go in search of wild dolphins. You will want to stay longer. Cruise ships that stop here are from Fred Olsen, Ambassador, Hapag Lloyd, Norwegian and others.
