Gary Barlow, brand representative and musical director of the new 710 club

The Limelight on the Britannia has been so successful that the Iona is to have its own club. We announced some time ago that Gary Barlow was to become the brand ambassador for P&O and many questioned it. They thought we were plugging our good friend John Fisher who is an amazing Gary Barlow impersonator often on the larger P&O ships. No, the real Gary Barlow is not only to be the brand ambassador but just as Jools Holland has become the musical director of SAGA’s night clubs on their ships, Gary Barlow is now to The 710 Club. He will also be the guest at Iona’s naming ceremony which we think might make him the Godmother of the ship in today’s equal rights.

P&Os President and Paul Ludlow the Vice-President who is in charge of Brand & Product development walked Gary into seeing the ship nearing completion. Gary said, “what an awesome sight!”

Will Gary Barlow be performing onboard? – Yes

P&O are committed to great entertainment as those who cruise with them regularly know. New artists and up and coming artists will be at The 710 Club each month and Gary will no doubt have a hand in finding some amazing new acts.

Gary Barlow has agreed to do two concerts onboard. They will be in the large theatre, and there will be an additional charge for that show, but, it is only £25. That is amazing when you consider you can pay hundreds to see him live elsewhere. Two shows mean not everyone will get a seat, and tickets will go on sale before the ship sails. Our guess is they will sell out fast.
